Measured in a straight line, it sits 16.7 km from central New Westminster. This is a line on a map, not a distance by road. Of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos on this guide, it ranks eighth by that measure.
Hours change with the day of the week. Monday to Thursday, it is open from 10AM to 4AM, and Friday to Sunday it stays open 24 hours. Live tables are games with a real dealer. They run Sunday to Thursday from 10AM to 1AM, and Friday and Saturday from 10AM to 3AM. Starlight, by contrast, is open 24 hours, every day of the year.
The floor is smaller than Starlight's. Its gaming floor offers over 500 slots plus electronic table games, and 10 live table games such as blackjack, baccarat and roulette. Starlight lists 54 live tables and more than 935 slot machines. Elements has no poker room. The racetrack next door has closed, and a sale of the casino is agreed but not yet closed.
Before You Walk Into Elements
- Door rule: you must be 19 or older. Security scans the government-issued photo ID of every visitor and runs it against the restricted-entry list. No personal information is saved for anyone who gets in.
- Poker: the floor has card games such as Four Card Poker at regular tables, but there is no poker room. Starlight has a seven-table poker room off its main floor.
- Food and shows: there is a buffet restaurant, with an all-you-can-eat buffet on weekends, plus Foodies. Elements Bar opens on Friday and Saturday nights, and the room hosts weekly comedy and live music.
- Loyalty card: the card here is called Encore Rewards. A loyalty card is a membership card linked to your visits, and this guide does not list its terms.
- Owner news: Great Canadian Entertainment agreed on March 9, 2026 to sell Elements to Semiahmoo First Nation's Se-mi-ah-mu Development Corporation. Approval must come from regulators and from the City of Surrey, the landowner. It had not closed as of mid-June 2026.
Getting There and Getting Home
This guide does not list parking or transit details for Elements Casino Surrey. Starlight offers complimentary parking in a parkade that brings you to the front door and in several outdoor lots, but that says nothing about the Surrey room.
Plan the trip home before you leave New Westminster, especially for a late night. The live tables close at 1AM most nights, and at 3AM on Friday and Saturday. Drinking means someone else does the driving. Arrange a sober driver or another way home first.

No, live harness racing at Fraser Downs, next to the casino, ended on August 15, 2025. The City of Surrey ended the racetrack lease, and the track has since been torn down.
