Online Casino Games and PlayNow in B.C.
This page answers two plain questions about playing casino games on a screen in B.C. Who runs the province's own site, and what is the Ad button on this guide's home page? It ends with a few habits worth keeping.
PlayNow, the Province's Own Site
PlayNow.com is the province's own online gambling site. It is run by BCLC. In plain words, it belongs to British Columbia, not to a private company.
The age to play there is 19, which matches the minimum for walking into a B.C. casino. Readers ask about PlayNow.com, and that is why this guide links to it. Nobody pays us for that link.
The Ad Button on Our Home Page
There is one button marked Ad on this guide's home page. A partner runs the online casino that the button opens. That casino is not PlayNow, not the province and not this site. The partner behind the button can change over time. For this, the partner pays this site a commission.
This guide makes no claim that the partner is licensed or regulated in B.C. Read its terms yourself before handing over any money. You will not find that button on this page.
Simple Habits for Playing Online
- Set a deposit limit before your first deposit, not after a long night.
- Play only with money set aside for fun, never with rent or bill money.
- Take regular breaks, and step away from the screen for a proper walk.
- If it stops being fun, call Gambling Support BC at 1-888-795-6111, free, confidential and open 24/7.
