Where River Rock is and what it is
River Rock Casino Resort is at 8811 River Road, Richmond, BC V6X 3P8. The gap from central New Westminster is 15.8 km, measured as a straight line. It is a map distance and does not follow roads. Of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos on this guide, it is number 6 by that measure.
This is a resort, not only a casino floor. There is an on-site hotel and the Show Theatre, which holds 1,000 people. The Canada Line's Bridgeport Station lies about 150 m away, measured in a straight line. The room has more than 1,100 slots, more than 80 live table games and a 10-table poker room. It also has 108 electronic table game terminals, which are screens where you play a table game electronically.
Table hours are the ones to know. Tables and poker run Monday to Thursday, 10AM to 4AM, then non-stop from Friday at 10AM to Monday at 4AM. River Rock does not publish general casino opening hours. Starlight, the New Westminster casino, never closes and runs day and night, all week. With more than 935 slots and 54 live table games, Starlight is the smaller floor of the two.
Before you walk in
- Entry is for people aged 19 and over. At the door, each person's government-issued photo ID is scanned by security and run against the names of restricted people.
- Poker has its own room with 10 tables, open during the table hours. A poker room is a separate area where guests play poker against each other at dealer-run tables.
- Restaurants include Gordon Ramsay Steak, KOI, Zio's, Sea Harbour and The Chairman's Room Buffet. A buffet is a meal where you serve yourself from a spread of dishes.
- Nearly 400 hotel rooms sit next door, joined to the casino tower by a sky bridge. Hotel check-in is 19+, and there is a pool with a water slide.
- Since June 16, 2026, River Rock has belonged to a new partnership of two First Nations companies. The first partner, Petroglyph Development Group, belongs to Snuneymuxw First Nation, while the second, Musqueam Capital Corp, belongs to the Musqueam Indian Band. The River Rock name is kept, and Encore Rewards, the loyalty card for regular guests, carries on too.
Getting there and home
From River Rock, Bridgeport Station on the Canada Line sits roughly 150 m away, measured in a straight line. For drivers, there is self-parking off River Road and valet service. Overnight valet costs $33 a night, and over-height self-parking is $25 a night. No self-parking price for casino visitors is published.
Plan your way home before you leave New Westminster, not at the end of the night. Know which way you will travel back and roughly when. If you have a drink, leave the car and take the train or arrange a ride.
